KEROPUR®D multifunctional diesel fuel additives ensure your diesel engine is clean and protect the entire fuel system. The additives remove already existing deposits (clean-up effect) and prevent the formation of new deposits (keep-clean effect). KEROPUR®D also improves the diesel’s cetane number which leads to an improved ignition and smoother combustion process.
Performance benefits, enabled by KEROPUR®D, have been proven in a wide range of engine and on-road tests – conducted, amongst others, by BASF’s Competence Centre Fuels & Lubes in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Diesel Fuel Injection and Formation of Deposits
Internal diesel injector deposits (IDID)
Deposit formation on valve, piston and needle resulting in:
- Difficulties to start the engine or no engine start
- Engine vibration and trembling
- Increased engine noise
External spray hole deposits
Nozzles of modern diesel engines have a very small sprayhole diameter: Hundreds of micrometers or even smaller. Inside the spray holes, deposits may form and reduce the amount of injected fuel. The reduction of injected fuel causes powerloss of the engine.

How often should I use KEROPUR®D?
This depends on the specific fuel quality available to you. BASF recommends to apply KEROPUR®D with every third or fourth stop at the gas station.

KEROPUR®high performance fuel additives are formulated as highly concentrated products and therefore employ a highly efficient deposit control formula. Therefore, the addition of 100 ml of high performance additive provides optimal results in 45-75 L of fuel. (also see dosage recommendation)
How does the high performance additive influence my diesel engine’s performance?
Over time, deposits tend to build up in any combustion engine. As deposits accumulate, this gradually brings a loss in power, fuel economy and drivability – compared to the clean condition of your vehicle. Cleaning the engine, by removing and preventing these performance-limiting deposits, KEROPUR®D helps you to restore and preserve performance you would otherwise forfeit.
Beyond that, the KEROPUR®D cetane booster accelerates the diesel fuel’s combustion process which adds to the improved functioning of your diesel engine.
Can I use KEROPUR®D with any kind of diesel blend (e.g. B0 diesel, biodiesel, etc.)?
KEROPUR®D can be added to any kind of diesel blend and significantly improves stability of B0 diesel and biodiesel blends.
What types of vehicles can I use the additive for?
KEROPUR®D high performance diesel additives can be used in all diesel-powered vehicles such as passenger cars as well as light-duty trucks & vehicles.
What kind of diesel powered engines is the additive suitable for?
KEROPUR®D high performance diesel additives can be used with any type of diesel injection system – including common rail, unit pump and rotary pump.
Is KEROPUR®D suitable for my brand of diesel car?
BASF recommends KEROPUR®D for use in all brands of diesel powered vehicles.
How should the empty packaging (bottles) be disposed?
Empty bottles should be disposed directly at the gas station into the respective waste containers, for example, the bin for empty lube oil packages.
